Top Five Amazing Places in the World

The world that we live in has some amazing and beautiful sights on offer. Some of them are such amazing places in the world that they simply call out to visitors from all around. From man made structures constructed beyond excellence to the wondrous sights offered by Mother Nature, our world has everything on offer.

The Grand Canyon: The Grand Canyon is a steep gorge cut by the River Colorado in the state of Arizona. This gorge is 277 miles long and 18 miles across at its widest points and about 1 mile deep. It is reckoned that this canyon was cut by the Colorado River some 6 millions years ago.

The Great Barrier Reef, Australia: The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is one of the most amazing places in the world and is also the largest coral reef in the world. Not only is this natural wonder a National Heritage site in Australia, it is also a World Heritage site.

The Taj Mahal: The Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and is a symbol of love and purity. Built in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz, Taj Mahal was constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The Taj is a World Heritage Site and is located in the Indian city of Agra and is truly a must visit place for everyone.

Machu Picchu: Meaning 'Old Peak', this ancient historical place is found in the country of Peru and is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was considered a sacred place by the Incan people. Machu Picchu has some beautiful stone structures that were built by the Incas which truly take away one's breath.

The Pyramids, Egypt: The Pyramids of Egypt need no introduction as they truly are one of the most amazing places in the world worth visiting. The most famous among them are the Pyramids of Giza which were built several centuries ago. It is said that the Egyptian Pyramids took about 200 years to be built in their true glory.
