The Rules To Road Bike Safety

There are several reasons why people love biking. Through this it can help lessen the traffic as well as to save the environment. Cars and other forms of transportation are producing gas emission which can harm the environment. Choosing bike as a means of transportation can also benefit our body and health. It makes one's life easy and comfortable. Sometimes accidents happen and in order to avoid it follow this simple rules to road bike safety.

Wearing a helmet is a must even though it is not required by the law. It might sound awkward to others but put in mind that helmet can save your life. It is the most important gear and should be worn properly. Choose a helmet that fits snugly to your head and follow the instructions in using it.

Use reflectors such as bright color clothes and putting a light in your bicycle. Reflective clothes can make you seen especially at night. Colors such as green, yellow, orange and other bright colors are the best colors when traveling at night. If you prefer to put a steady beam light or a strobe type light on your bicycle position it on both pedals, just under the seat or on the spokes of the wheels.

Always carry with you a basic biker's tool kit. This kit contains wrenches, spare inner tube and a pump to fix the tire. So that whenever you will have a flat tire you don't have to worry because of the biker's tool kit is within your reach. It's good to be prepared all the time.

Follow the rules. Everyone is required to obey traffic rules. Follow traffic signs; slow down if you're heading to the pedestrian lane. Rules are very important in order to avoid accidents.

Riding defensively and knowing the rules in the road can protect you. Following these simple steps will keep you away from harm and you'll definitely enjoy your ride.
