In contrast, you'll find no shortage of exotic rum cocktails.

Cuba's main exports are coffee, rum and cigars, and these make up a good proportion of souvenirs bought too. Also popular are local crafts, widely available in souvenir shops, and usually hotel shops too. A great selection of goods, that will make interesting souvenirs of your Cuban holiday.

Traditional package holidays to Cuba are available with several leading tour operators, and can represent excellent value for money. Alternatively, for greater flexibility, and equally competitive prices, simply choose a hotel in Cuba from the selection of Cuban hotels available, and add this to a flight to Cuba, to create your ideal Cuban holiday. If you are visiting family or friends, you may not need to book accommodation in Cuba at all, and may wish to only search for flights to Cuba.

Steelers Send Vikings To First Defeat Of Season

By Ross Everett

Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings are undefeated no more. The Pittsburgh Steelers' used a couple of big plays from their defense in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and defeat the Vikings by a final score of 27-17. Favre put up decent yardage in the loss, throwing for 334 yards but had no touchdowns and an interception. The defending Superbowl Champion Steelers improved to 5-2, while the Vikings are now 6-1.

NFL pointspread players who backed the Steelers as -6 home favorites were rewarded with the cover. Pittsburgh had only covered one of their first six games heading into the contest, and the win improved their record against the number to 2-5. Minnesota dropped to 4-3 against the spread with the setback.

The Steelers largely shut down Minnesota's rushing game, holding Adrian Peterson to 69 yards. Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark underscored his team's dominance against the run:

"That's the biggest point of the game. You have the best running back in the world and you don't give it to him. They're saying they can't beat us running, and that's a major statement when you have the guy they have back there."

Favre gave a mealy mouthed justification for the loss in his postgame interview:

"There were a lot of what ifs, a lot of reasons we didn't win. The red zone was one of them. They're physical, and they were as good as we thought they'd be. ... When I came here and looked at our schedule and saw the Steelers game, I went, 'Oh-h-h.' "

Favre has only thrown three interceptions in a Vikings' uniform, but #3 was a costly one as it was returned by Steelers' Keyaron Fox for a touchdown to put the game out of reach as Minnesota was driving for a potential game tying field goal. Afterwards, Fox recalled the play:

"Brett tried to force it in there and the running back bobbled it and slipped out of his hands and it fell into my lap. I had just run across the field after Peterson and I was winded, so it felt like it was 100-plus yards."

The Vikings now face another big game next week as they head to Favre's old stomping grounds in Green Bay for a battle with the Packers. It'll be Favre's first appearance at his old home in an enemy uniform. The Vikings will then have a bye weekend before hosting the lowly Detroit Lions on November 15. Pittsburgh will enjoy a bye week this week before returning to action on Monday, November 9th facing the Denver Broncos on the road.

For those that like to travel, there are usually two different types of locations to consider planning a vacation to. The first type of location is the typical foreign tourist trap that caters to visitors and has not much to offer other than a nice landscape. Next, is a place that has a very rich culture and a history that is that is intriguing and waiting to be adsorbed. The People's Democratic Republic of Algeria is a bit of both. Since it is located next to the Mediterranean Sea there are some very nice beaches, but also there is so much history that surrounds this area it is simply amazing! Probably one of the best places to start your exploring is at Algeria's capital city, Algiers. This city is located near the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and is full of things to see and do. The ancient city is located behind the town on a steep hill and is a great place to get a look at where Algeria started its roots.

During your visit you will certainly be traveling to see a few of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. For instance, Mzav is an ancient area that is famous for the architecture. The people that lived here long ago made sure to construct their city in a way that was adapted to the surroundings. Here you can see Roman ruins as artifacts left over by an ancient race of warriors, The Phoenecians.

Sharm el Sheikh Excursions - Romance of a Sinai Sunrise

By Rob Atherton

A short time ago, I was questioned by a friend of mine what the most romantic thing to do on a trip in Sharm. He was planning to ask his girlfriend to marry him on an upcoming holiday getaway and naturally was looking to pick the most suitable location.

I had to think about this as although I go to Egypt often, is almost always to go diving or rest on the beach which even though it is an ideal way to spend a holiday, it was not really what he was looking for.

I thought the nicest restaurants with perfect views but not much really sprung to mind. I began to give thought to the several excursions that were on offer to holiday makers. There are a variety of excursion options on the market including trips by airplane to Cairo, Luxor and the Lost City of Petra in Jordan. Additionally you can also take a visit from Sharm el Sheikh to Jerusalem.

Even so, these excursions are many hours long and are usually exhausting so I started looking at options a bit nearer to Sharm el Sheikh. You will discover many potential alternatives such as a Bedouin dinner under the clear skies but the harder I thought about it, there was just one real option. The excursion to Mount Sinai and St Catherine's Monastery departs Sharm el Sheikh just before the sun rises. After 2-3 hours, you get to Mount Sinai in the heart of the desert and start to climb up the mountain. From your view point, you wait in anticipation of the Sinai sunrise.

The desert in this region of Egypt is picturesque with a combination of sand and colourful mountains. As the sun comes up and begins to climb in the sky, you start to sense its welcoming rays and the shadows dance all across the curves of the adjacent mountain tops. It really is a marvelous and romantic occasion. The trip to Mount Sinai is one of the daily tours from Sharm and is well worth getting up early for.

How The Last Decade Gave Birth To Indie Music

By Mary Tanenbaum

As with each passing Decade there are always moments that define that Decade. If we were to look at what music defined the last Decade, we need look no further than the rise of indie Rock. Who would have seen this coming even just 10 or 20 years ago? Certainly not most of us out there.

With the alternative Rock of the 90's out of the way. The door was open for the birth of indie Rock at the beginning of the last Decade. Amazingly over Ten years later and indie is still as popular now as when it first started out.

New trends started to appear on the music scene. Music that did not conform to the mainstream started to appear. This was a welcome addition and the music fans loved the concept. Bands such as Wilko, and the Strokes quickly made their mark on the music scene.

There are differing views as to what indie music really is. Some say that it is a band that is either not signed to a label, or signed to an independent label. Others may say that it is just a genre of music that does not conform to the stereotypical mainstream music.

Most people agree that whatever the meaning of indie is, the fact is that it produces some great music. For too long we have had to put up with music that was specifically geared up to getting a top 40 airplay slot.

With more indie bands coming to the fore and trying out new sounds, who is to say that indie will not be here for a long time to come.

Maybe most of the success has come about because of the ease of access to the internet. Many new bands are to be found daily on the internet playing their songs. Whatever the reason for the success of indie Rock, I hope that it continues.

The previous Decade was defined by indie Rock, and I am convinced that this Decade will be too.
