Watch The New Nightmare On Elm Street 2010

By Kimberley Stewart

Film remakes are nothing new to the world of Hollywood films. It is hard to say if it really is just a statement of having run out of good ideas, or a statement of the advancements in the way that films are made that could benefit these older classics. Whatever it is, remakes are coming out all the time and it seems to take a lot for them to dazzle. One that seemed to really stand out this year was A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010.

You should understand first that there are no numbers of the year in the title, however this is often put at the end so that it can be distinguished from the film of 1984. There are a few different things that this article is setting out to accomplish, the first of which will be to give you some key plot points. The second of these would be to draw some parallels between this film and the original release.

You should realize that this film has a lot of different reasons that you might want to watch it. There are plenty of new faces that help to reinvent classic characters and still this movie has a deep rooted commitment to stay true to form with the rest of the Elm Street series. This article will get started with the synopsis of the plot, but you should be mindful as this synopsis might divulge smaller spoilers about the film.

You start off meeting Dean, a boy just trying to stay awake in a diner. He tries to chase down a waitress to get a refill on his coffee, and it seems as though everyone but Dean knows he is dreaming. Soon enough, you meet Freddy Krueger just before Dean wakes up. Kris, his girlfriend shows up and he tells her all about his fear. He says that someone in his dream is trying to kill him, and she doesn't believe him. Dean falls asleep again and appears to kill himself in front of Kris, but it really is Krueger.

Soon the panic sets in among the groups, and there are so many theories about what actually happened that it becomes difficult to see who is being affected by Dean's death. Soon, everyone who is having separate conversations with each other realize that the same man is haunting their dreams, Freddy Krueger.

Now the body count is rising and more and more about Krueger is coming to light. While their dreams were terrifying, they managed to give each of them pieces of the puzzle towards stopping Freddy. Nancy learns that she can pull things out of her dreams, and this spawns a showdown with the madman back where her nightmare began as a small child.

There are all kinds of scenes that parallel the original, and they fit seamlessly into this release. One of the most noteworthy things to keep in mind about this new release would be the replacement of Robert Englund, the original and only Freddy Krueger. The re-imagining is masterfully constructed by Jackie Earle Haley portraying the same Freddy Krueger we have all grown to fear, but with a new look and some new lines.

Learning about A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 should not be difficult. While there might be several things to know and understand, this article should give you a bit of insight towards what you need to know and appreciate about this impressive remake to the classic horror film. - 39815
