She is mourning the death of her lover, Arthur "Boy" Capel when she meets Igor. Stravinsky has been forced to leave Russian after the Russian Revolution and has fled to France. The two are immediately attracted to one another.
Chanel offers Stravinsky and his family the use of her villa located on the outskirts of Paris. While he, his wife, and their children are living in the villa, Stravinsky and Chanel begin a closeted love affair. They have an intense passion for one another that shows in their work. Creatively, their work gets better. It is during their love affair that Igor's music takes on a more freeing tone. It is also during the affair that the famous perfume, Chanel No. 5 is released. The love affair quickly comes to an end when Stravinsky's wife is made aware of the affair.
The film was directed by Jan Kounen, and Chris Greenhalgh also wrote the screenplay. It was filmed in both French and English.
